Hi, I’m Simran Khorana, a home maker, entrepreneur, wife and a mother of a loving son.
I am an ex HR professional who plunged into the field of art after having a kid. I started this journey to get a “me” time for myself from the house chores and taking care of my baby and gradually developed a passion for the work I do. I have always been an ardent fan of art and home décor. For me every home says something about its owner and has a personality to reflect. Art is the best way to do so.
Inspiration is the fuel for an artist. I got my first inspiration on internet when I stumbled on a few diy blogs and started with creating a television remote holder with whatever I had in hand. This is how my new journey began and this is how Scarlet was born. I am on my way to becoming a self taught artist who makes handcrafted products under the brand name Scarlet for home decor, a photographer and an upcycle enthusiast who is always inspired to re-purpose old stuff or junk into something new and useful, not to forget I am a huge foodie and travel junkie. This is what keeps me inspired to create.
Looking at my interests and passion, my sister Preeti encouraged me to start this journey of blogging. Cooking for me is therapeutic and allows me to explore my creative best. I hope to inspire amateur cooks and develop an interest in cooking through my quick and easy vegetarian recipes made from easily available ingredients. I have learned a lot in the kitchen from my mother who happens to be a great cook and I got this passion for cooking from her. My husband Ricky and my son Kabir are my greatest support in my cooking and traveling adventures. I’m here to help you create magic in your kitchen with the dishes that will inspire and nourish you and your loved ones! Together, let’s discover the joy of good and easy to make food that will bring sparkle in your eyes and captivate your senses with its intoxicating aroma!
I will also be sharing my travel and food related stories and if you have a story to share, do write me and I would love to share your stories on my blog.
Grab a cuppa (beverage of your choice) and stay with me awhile, read through my plethora of adventures of cooking, crafting, travelling and reach out to me if you want me share any recipes of your choice!
